Yeah, that happened to me tonight.
Got a Winchester Model 1890 WRF made in 1907.

What the fuck did you go to the store for in the first place?

I would assume socks.

A gun case for my other Winchester...

Nice. I’ve got a love for nice .22s. But recently I’ve been buying airguns because I can’t get enough 22lr reliably. So I am shooting at the power of a 22 short subsonic and silenced.

That’s fucking awesome! Is it safe to shoot, or is this for show? I still shoot my Dad’s old .22 from the 20’s(got it from his Dad), but I’d check and make sure everything is clean before firing.

Fuck man, who do you think you are? Annie Oakley?
But seriously, nice find.

It’s definitely a shooter, wouldn’t have bought it otherwise.

What's your other? I've got a 1947 Model 12 and a 2012 Mossberg 500.

An 1894 saddle ring carbine in .44 mag. I also have a 1911.
John Browning was one hell of an engineer.

I like you’re version of an Impulse buy!
Damn that’s pretty.

Yeah, that happened once. I went to Harbor Freight to buy some tools, but I also bought some zipties that I didn’t originally anticipate on purchasing! You could say that I’m financially irresponsible.

Designed by one of my ancestors

Long or short? Dad has an 1890 short that he retrofitted to long. Wonderful gun to shoot, but there’s such little recoil that with hearing protection you can never be sure you’ve actually pulled the trigger. Fantastic rifle.

the 1890 was a Matt Browning design, they both were great engineers but Matt doesn’t ever get much credit.

Walked in with a gun, walked out with all the money in the register?

Please elaborate.

Depending on who you are, maybe zipties count as tools?

Is this some kind of confession, that you just robbed a store at shotgun-point? I read about these kind of self-revelations now and again, generally in conjunction with an arrest.
You youths today! with your “facebooks” and “blogs” and “selfies” and stuff! When are you going to learn that the police read the Internet too?

I’m a decedent of Matt Browning.

Very cool. Got any stories or family urban legends?

I don’t really know much about that side of the family, sadly. I’ve started to get an itch for it though. The old shop is still in Ogden (its owned by a video production company I have close ties with) and its neat to visit from time to time.
